Korres Lip Butter: Review

I got a bit of a bargain recently when I bought a Korres Guava Lip Butter in one of the lovely Cosmetic Candy's blog sales for only £3.00. It was brand new and totally untouched and came in a fabulous package along with the other bits I bought plus a lollipop (kept the boyfriend happy and distracted him from the fact I had bought more make-up) and best of all - a cosmetic candy badge. Yep, like a Blue Peter badge but for grown ups (who have an obsession with make-up).

Anyway, onto the review. It took me a while to use this lip butter for the first time as it looked all smooth and lovely and I didn't want to 'spoil' it by sticking my grubby mitts in (no, there's no logic there at all) I guess I can only liken it to when it snows and everything looks and perfect and white - till a big car comes along and spoils it by turning it to sludge. Kinda similar...

Anyway, when I got 'stuck in' I found a rather different texture to what I was expecting. I was expecting something similar to a standard lip balm, but instead found that the lip butter was thicker - although it wasn't heavy or thick when applied on the lips. It was just quite dense and creamy rather than balm-like. When applied it feels creamy and really moisturises, rather than just coats lips a-la Vaseline. I find that using this keeps my lips soft all day with just a couple of applications.

My favorite things about the lip butter are the smell and the colour. The colour is creamy-white, and as it is tinted it acts as a sort of concealer for my natural lip colour - leaving me with pale/neutral lips - which is a look I love, especially since I tend to focus my make-up on my eyes. The smell is gorgeous - fruity and sweet, and reminds me of cocktails. Yummy.

The picture above was taken pre-use (so I can savour the smooth and perfect loveliness).

  1. I've too have recently been introduced to Korres Lip Butter and really like it. I have it in 2 of the colors, Jasmine and Quince. The Jasmine gives me that nude look and the Quince is great for a pop of color.

  2. I just read another review on the Jasmine lip butter and love the colour, so hopefully going to get myself one of those too - for a change of colour!

The nail colour is the infamous 'Metro Chic' by Sephora for OPI. I ordered from ebay - can't remember the seller name, but if you are UK based and want to know i'll check for you! They were really good - fast delivery!
