Urban Decay 24/7 Glide On Eye Pencil: Review

So, anyone who has read this blog, or follows me on Twitter may already know this - but I am a bit in love with the Urban Decay Book of Shadows II. I am probably starting to annoy people by raving about it, but I'm really hoping that if I go on about it enough Santa (aka the boyfriend) might get the hint.

Anyway, Book of Shadows II aside, recently I have been resting out a few of the 24/7 Eye Pencils and want to share my review with you lovely peeps.

Urban Decay 24/7 Glide on Eye Pencil is described as 'unmatched in the industry' for providing intense, creamy colour, in a water-proof, unstoppable formula that literally lasts 24/7.... sounds pretty impressive right?

So what do I think? I am truly impressed by the intensity of these eye liners - the three colours I have been using (below top to bottom: Bourbon, Lust and Electric) are all really bright and vivid. Even Bourbon, the brown, normally just lumped into the 'neutrals' category is somehow brighter and more exciting in this pencil. With a hint of subtle glitter, this colour is really pretty but still subtle enough for daily use. Bourbon is the shade I have used most of the three, using it to line under my eyes as it's a little softer than black for daytime. Look how vibrant the colours are in the picture, and that was taken from a bit of a distance rather than up-close.

The main thing that impresses me about these pencils is that they really DO NOT BUDGE. The swatches I drew on my hand for the picture really didn't smudge, smear or wash off at all with water - but magically came of clean with some eye make-up remover. On the eye it's the same thing - they last all day, but then when you want to take it off they just come off easily.
I really like these eye pencils and now want to add Zero Black and Gunmetal to the collection. At £10 a pencil, the value is really good as the pencils are really big and will last for ages.
Urban Decay is available in Boots (currently part of the buy 3 get 750 advantage card points deal), House of Fraser and Debenhams.

  1. Liking the look of these bad boys. Especially Gunmetal. Did they crease on your lids at all?

  2. Nope, no creasing at all for me. I did mostly use it to line lower lashes - no colour fall out or smudging there though. When I used 'Electric' to line upper eye lid it totally stayed put too.

Gunmetal does look rather fabulous doesn't it!

  3. I've been so excited since UD promised international shipping 'soon.' Most liners last well on my upper lashline, but anything in the vicinity of my waterline smudges.
