Weekend euphoria

Yay, it's Saturday! Which I am very very pleased about - it has been a long week. But enough about me, the title of this post actually relates to the product I wanted to mention. On Thursday I popped into Boots at Waterloo Station and of course couldn't leave without picking up a random beauty item - so I bought a Rimmel 60 Seconds Nail Polish in Euphoria (number 510).

The colour is a gorgeous shimmery pale lilac-pink, quite classic yet still quite unusual, so hard to describe. The picture above is pretty accurate though. The formula is smooth and the picture below shows two coats over my trusty Mavala Base Coat (no top coat).
This is the first time I have painted my nails since Christmas. One of my beauty new years resolutions was to sort out my cuticles and look after my nails (and to look more polished). So since Christmas I have been really piling on the cuticle treatments and laying off the polish as my nails weren't in the best condition after a dodgy manicure pre-Xmas. They are in much better condition now, so thought I would get back on the polish bandwagon.
The downside of this colour though is that it really doesn't dry in 60 seconds - I made the fatal error or attempting to paint my nails first thing in the morning (yep, pre hair/make-up/getting dressed) who knows what I was thinking. I think I was taking the '60 second' thing seriously and expecting it to be dry quick enough that I wouldn't ruin it. You can probably see from the picture that this wasn't the case and within moments of starting to get ready for the day I had completely smudged about 50% of my nails - check out the big chunk I took out of my forefinger!
Moral of this story - don't try to pain your nails when you are in a hurry. Doh!

I bought this product myself. All reviews are honest and impartial regardless of the source.

  3. I do love the colour - despite the bad job I did on my nails it's still holding up well today.

Definately not one that does as it says on the tin though!
