The lovely ladies at Bourjois clearly have a good idea of what us girls like - we were welcomed by a gorgeous spread of pretty cupcakes (yep, there goes week one of Weight Watchers in on sugar coated sponge mouthful...) and pink champagne. It was really nice to see a lot of the other bloggers again and have a bit of a natter (mostly make-up related, surprise...).

Gorgeous colours and how cute are the ring and the mini watering can?
Bourjois make-up artist, Cassie Lomas, demonstrated the new Spring make-up colours - which include pretty corals and a gorgeous lime/gold eyeliner on the inner 1/3 of the lower lash line. It looked beautiful and I'm definitely going to try it, although I think it may look better on brown eyes than blue, but no harm in giving it a go.

Will give these a thorough review when I have had a
decent time to test but can already share that I like the blush...
Another stand out product was the sheer coral lipstick, brightly pigmented but still gorgeously sheer. As a non-lipstick wearer, this is pretty ideal for me - a step up from lip gloss, but not quite a lipstick. Plus a similar shade of coral nail polish - which we were practically fighting to get our hands on and have a go with - I was a complete failure of a beauty blogger and did a messy, smudged paint job. How embarrassing - considering the company I am in. Perhaps I should change my blog name to a beauty scruff in London...
There was also a gorgeous new limited edition, little round pot eyeshadow in a deep brown with some bronze shimmer and the new 'healthy mix' foundation - that I have been wearing today, and I am so far really impressed with. Lovey medium coverage, looks natural and feels light - easy to blend, with a gorgeous semi-matte/satin finish. Will give it a full review once I have tried it for a few days to get a real feel for it.
Now, I am the sort of girl that gets really excited by cupcakes (which I was) but one of the most exciting bits of the Bourjois event is when we were basically let loose on a few bowls filled with products (new and old) from the Bourjois range and allowed to pick out some bits that we wanted to try. Yep, like taking a group of fat kids into a candy shop and saying 'help yourselves'. I wont lie, we looted the place - but what do you expect?! I didn't go quite as far as picking up the bowls and emptying them into my bag, but I did get my grubby mitts on a fair few bits that I love the look of and will be testing out and reviewing.
The post-loot bowls of make-up.
See, we didn't take everything!
I do have to say, that since I started blogging I have been fortunate enough to be invited to a few events. Every one is a bit different, but this is the first one where the organisers gave us the freedom to look at the products and choose the ones we want to test. Personally I really appreciated this - it meant that I could pick out the colours/textures/general products that appealed to me.
Below are the bit's I selected and the cute make-up
bag that I like to think is true as I don't cook well, at all.
This was a new, and refreshing approach as for one I get to choose the bits I am personally drawn to and from the brand's perspective, this is a plus for them as I (and the other bloggers) are more likely to really want to play with the product, rather than simply feel obliged to.
Personally, I really couldn't wait to get started playing and today wore - the new foundation, new blush, brown eye liner and the LE eyeshadow. All of which I really like so far. I might even be brave enough to post a face of the day type of post this week.... but will definitely give them a proper review.
On a final note - here is a picture of one of the yummy cupcakes. Because it's not ALL about make-up you know. Sometimes it's about pretty food.
Mmm... cake.
