In 2004-2005 I lived in America and attended an American University (Louisiana State University to be precise - Geaux Tigers!) when I was there it was hard NOT to discover Cetaphil, it was such a staple. I spent most of the year using it as it was an ideal simple cleanser that just did the job without any fuss.
So I am really pleased to hear that six years down the line (eek) Cetaphil has now hit UK shelves! Whoop!
As a cleanser, it's really quite simple - a light gel liquid. A small amount does the job of thoroughly cleansing skin without leaving it feeling totally stripped of moisture. It does leave skin feeling like it needs a touch of moisturiser after cleansing, but that's pretty normal for me.
When I was living in the US I only used the cleanser, now in the UK market the cleanser is joined by a light moisturiser. I started out trying this and found it basic - no obvious scent, light and absorbs easily - but because it is so light I didn't feel it's really enough to deal with winter skin that needs a bit more moisture than usual.
But if you are looking for a straightforward simple moisturiser that cleanses skin, Cetaphil is a good bet!
Cetaphil is available from Boots for £9.18
**UPDATE**
Apparently it's been available in the UK for a while! Doh! And you can pick it up for cheaper on various online stores!

I've always got mine from Lloyds pharmacies in the UK for the last few years, they have a stockist checker on their website. :-) Boots still doesn't stock it where I live, they seem a bit slow like that. :-/
ReplyDeleteThis product I have seen mentioned loads of times over the past few years. But because the UK was very slow in getting it, haven't had chance to get it. However @ £9.18 a pop, think I'll pass when it's in Asda for £4.00 and costs even less I think in the US!!!
ReplyDeleteYou can also get it cheaper from feelunique.com.

Yeah same as the comment above, I got mine in Lloyds pharmacies for years. It is a good cleanser apart from the nasty parabens x
ReplyDeleteglad you have reviewed this; it sounds like it is best for younger skin than mine but nice that it is scent free.. quite unusual.
ReplyDeleteI keep seeing this and ive heard so many good things, must try it out!
