NARS Summer 2012

A couple of weeks ago I was lucky to attend a masterclass with NARS artist Jane Richardson who introduced me and a group of other bloggers to the new Spring collection, the new tinted moisturiser and the latest nail colours. First things first, we were each seated with one of the most amazing things in the world of make-up - a Nars 'laptop'... just look at it, amazing.

The Spring collection is really interesting - as with most seasonal launches from NARS - the shades aren't the traditional/predictable. Sure, in the trio 'Ramatuelle' there are two muted pastel shades - but then a toned down terracotta is thrown in there too. On first look it's not an instant lust, but then on second look for me it really appeals to me, for one the soft grey and the pastel peach shimmer are pretty and the muted terracotta  is an orangey shade that is naturally flattering on blue eyes.... so I'm sold.

Other stand out colours - the blusher 'Liberte' - a brighter brick colour, looks scary! But as Jane Richardson demonstrated, the blusher is universally flatter - used softly as a contour or heavier on darker skintones. It really did work on everyone, the trick was to layer slowly.

The Spring collection has a lot of products that are worth checking out - if you like bright eyeshadow, then you need to check out the duo 'Marie-Galante', a shimmering purple and blue - seriously eye catching and stunning.

There's a nude Velvet Lipgloss called 'Buenos Aires' and a rich plum lip colour called 'Never Say Never' (which does make me think of Justin Bieber...) and a peachy pink nail colour in 'Trouville'. So many pretty things, it's almost too much for a single blog post!

We were also introduced to the new Tinted Moisturiser, I do love a tinted moisturiser in Summer so will give this a proper test-run before reporting back. But here's a closer look at my top two picks - Liberte* Blush and Ramatuelle* Eye Shadow Trio, from the Summer Nars Collection.

Last but by no means least there was also the Thakoon for Nars nail collection - a rainbow of pretty brights just perfect for Summer.

Phew, that's a whole lot of Nars goodness! Personally, Nars is one of my most lust-worthy brands so I could go on and on about it for hours. But I'll stop here! Let me know which Nars pretty bits stood out most to you!
