Of course, when I say filling in brows - I don't mean making them look like they have been gone-over with a black marker pen, or drawn on with a thick pencil line. What you want is something that's a shade or two darker than your natural colour but still close - so it looks natural. The overall effect should just to be like your brows are a bit 'fuller' (ie they have more hairs) than they looked before.
A couple of months ago I spotted this little beauty at Amsterdam Airport and had heard amazing things about the Anastasia Beverly Hills brand so decided to pick one up.

I chose the Universal Light shade as felt this would be the closest match for my paler brows and as you can see from the swatch above - this is one of the very few coloured make-up products that you WANT to not be pigmented. You want something sheer and build-able - so you can achieve a naturally looking level of intensity (you might want it layered darker on fatter bits of the brow - but paler on the thinner sections.
The mug shot above is to give an idea of the difference brows make to a look. Yes, this has the wonders of an instagram filter over it - but this was a day where I was wearing no make-up other than filling my brows in with my Anastasia Pen and a bit of mascara. I absolutely love the difference it makes to my face and highly recommend that if you haven't tried doing anything with your brows before give it a go - there are lots of very cheap products out there so for a little investment you can make a big difference to your look!
The Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Pen is available from Cult Beauty (£16.50)
Bought by me.

Oh I thought the pen would be super hard and dark but it isn't! Love it! I definately want to try it :) xx
ReplyDeleteThis looks gorgeous on you, but I never normally use a brow pencil :(

Your brows look so good here! I usually use eyeshadow and an angled brush to fill my brows in but often find some shadows a little too dark as I'm quite fair too. May just have to pick this one up.

ReplyDeleteOOHHH! Looks really natural! I like it! I've heard Anastasia has the best brow products so I'm definitely wanting to give it a try but the price is a bit steep.

The pen itself looks a bit scary, but the results are so nice!
