One for the boys... Dove Men+ Care

Another something different, it's a men's skincare review! When I was offered the chance to let the boy try out some skincare and review it for me I felt I couldn't really say no - as I wanted to give him a little go at the world of beauty blogging!





I was also really curious to see what he though, as the boy is very much a die-hard Clinique skincare fan, I've previously tried to give him other alternatives to try but he usually gives them a few days and then fobs them off. But the first thing to note is that he didn't give up on trialling them meer days after he started, he's actually stuck with them! Which does say a lot... but rather than listen to me waffle, I thought I'd hand over to him to give a breakdown of each of the trio of products. It's kind of brief, but this is about as lengthy a review I can expect from a boy on skincare... but it is in his words! Over to the boy:

Dove Men+Care Face Scrub

"I like it as a face wash every day, it wasn't very scrubby but perhaps it's meant to be sensitive and not too harsh. It's nice as a creamy deep cleanser and feels nice - it smells nice to use but not very scrubby."

Dove Men+Care Moisturiser

"The moisturiser smells nice and reminds me of sun cream - it reminds me of summer. I has a nice texture and doesn't feel oily or greasy - as someone who doesn't have dry skin it wasn't too over the top."

Dove Med+Care Post Shave Balm

"This one I haven't used as much, because I find the moisturiser is plenty for my skin - but perhaps for those with drier skin this could be ideal."

Overall

"I think they're good products and good value for money - the only thing I don't like is the packaging. Because it feels really similar to the Clinique style it makes me think they're a cheap version of them. Which I guess it is, but I don't really want to think of them as that when using them. My favourite product would definitely be the scrub - as someone who does a lot of exercise this felt great at shifting sweat/grease/dirt, but without feeling too harsh and leaving skin feeling dry. I'll buy another of this when this bottle runs out."
