I recently bought illamasquas rich liquid~ and i love it..
The best thing about it is it LASTS and the coverage is amazing! It covers everything!lol. I have combination skin like yours and my skin loves it^^ gives a very flawless finish.
I dont use it everyday though. I prefer sheer light foundations for everyday. But when I get a spot or redness for whatever reasons(stress, time of the month, out the night before) I have to use Illamasqua's foundation.

Think you should go around and try them all out^^ thats the best way to help you decide~~ xx

Thank you everyone for your suggestions and recommendations - love the fact that there is such a range in there, from Rimmel (shock, horror!) to Dior.

Still not made a 100% decision, but think I'm going to visit a few make-up shops and test out the suggested formulas and see how they go before investing. Might have to go and get my hands on the Rimmel one though, cheap and cheerful and sounds like it is worth a try.

@TheKiwiBex - I have tried the Max Factor Second Skin and do really like it too, but find it doesn't last all that well for a day at work. I need to get a new shade in a slightly darker colour too.

I love MAC face and body foundation! If you've got pretty well behaved skin then it perfects it and leaves a beautiful finish. I adore using ELF mineral foundation powder. I've been struggling with breakouts for about 3 years. really bad, angry, painful ones. A few tweaks on my diet, using this mineral foundation and I've got skin my 20's would be proud of! It's worth giving it a try. I like to put it on with the ELF flat top studio line brush. xxx

MAC Face and Body is a pretty amazing foundation. Depending on how you put i on, it gives light to medium coverage. I was recommended to apply it with my fingers, to warm a bit up between my fingertips until it starts to go a bit thicker, and then apply all over my face. It really evens out the skintone, and whatever concealer you apply on top of it goes on flawless. However, the formula feels a bit thick and slightly oily. You will need a powder to set the foundation, or it will be way to oily. Also, it's waterproof so you'll need a good cleanser to get it all off or it will just stay on your face and clog the pores. My Eucerin cleansing lotion didn't get it all off, as an example.

I always use this in the summer, and would use it in the winter if it wasn't for the fact that the lightest shade isn't quite light enough for my NC15 skin. :( So in the winter I go for MAC Studio sculpt. Really good foundation. It gives medium coverage and has a really nice and natural finish. Doesn't feel to heavy or matte/oily either. It just gives me damn nice skin. :)

Those two are definitly my two all time favourite foundations. I doubt that I will try another foundation in a very very long time. Well, unless Bobbi Brown and Revlon would become available in Sweden. ;) Although I suspect that I would return to F&B and Studio Sculpt. They just do the trick for me.

I'd be interested to see if anyone can suggest a good replacement for Prescriptives Flawless Skin foundation (RIP - sniff). My skin's pretty bad and it was the only thing that gave me good coverage without looking trowelled on. Am using Revlon Colourstay at the moment and it's okay, a bit gloopier than I'd like.

Get Lippie, you're not the only one with a love for Rimmel Stay Matte-- it's amazing! It really does keep my face matte but I think the lightest shade that they have is "Ivory 100" which is my shade but I'm also a little tan as well. It really depends on your tone but SM might not sit well with fair-skinned beauties.

I am also loving Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser. The sponge tip lets you buff out the foundation really evenly and a little bit of this foundation goes a loooong way. It's light and you don't get as much shine in the T-zone as you do with most drugstore foundations.

I'm still testing out a few high-end ones but so far these 2 are my staples. I love them so much, I think I'm sending one of each to my cousin in China!

My current favourite - and it's a surprising one - it Rimmel Stay Matte. I love it, and it's great for combination skin as it's not as matte as the name suggests, it's more of a satin finish. Lasts pretty well, and it's CHEAP.

Laura Mercier Illuminating Tinted Moisturizer.

I love this! It is a light to medium coverage that is buildable. There is a light reflecting shimmer in the product that gives your skin a beautiful healthy glow (I use a light loose finishing powder over it to give a flawless look.) A little goes a long way with this product too. I have absolutely nothing bad to say about it!

Personally I'm using a mixture of two foundations which create a great finish for me (if it wasn't for the spots - bad breakout time!) They are Miss Sporty Light Energy with instant anti-fatigue effect mixed with Maybelline Dream Satin liquid for an air-brush finish. I add these two together on a sponge and apply. I'm quite pleased with the result. x

DiorSkin Nude is a good one for this - it gives enough coverage without looking cakey. It has a high water content in it so I believe this is why!

I personally love MAC Studio Fix Fluid. It's buildable and makes my skin look pretty flawless. I apply with my fingers, but apparently buffing it on with a duofibre brush gives a very good finish.
