Can you guess what it is yet?.... Revealed!

So yesterday I posted a bit of a mysterious looking gadget and asked you to guess at what you thought it was and what brand it was for...

There were a couple of guesses in the ball park area and a few that thought it was a new waxing gadget (I have more info on the waxing gadget coming soon...) but I can reveal that the mysterious gadget is.... a new face wash and dispenser system from none other than Clearasil!

Yep, that's right - this slick looking (and pink) thing is a new face wash dispenser for Clearasil's new girl-friendly face wash. If you haven't heard of Clearasil before then you are probably one of those lucky people who didn't suffer from spots as a teen. But if you did (as I did) then you will probably be familiar with Clearasil for treating spots and helping keep hormonal skin as clear as possible. On the downside, Clearasil is pretty extreme stuff and I always remember it having a tendency to strip the skin and leaving it feeling quite dry.

Well, to go with the shiny gadget Clearasil are also launching two new variants of the face wash that are a bit gentler, but still claim to do the job of keeping skin clear and spot-free..it's called the 'Clearasil Perfect Wash System'.

The new formulas are not only gentler but they are also scented (there's a fruit scent and a plant scent) so they actually smell good rather than medicated. If you have read my blog for a while then you will know how much importance I put on a product smelling nice - it really is something that will make me decide if a product is a winner or not.

Now, I haven't tried the new face wash as I don't really suffer from spots - but I'm going to pass this gadget on to a friend to give it a test. But I do love the new dispenser - it's a totally hands-free gadget, you just wave your hand underneath the spout and the ideal dose of Clearasil wash will be dispensed - each bottle apparently contains enough for 100 doses.

The Clearasil Perfect Wash system will cost £12.99 which comes with enough product for six weeks (100 doses) - refills will also be available so a new kit isn't needed each time.

What do you think? I know I'd much rather have this in my bathroom than a bottle of  old-school Clearasil. But perhaps not right next to this sink in case everyone uses it as hand wash...!

Available in Superdrug from January 2012.

SOS: Save me from Spots, I need your help

I'm lucky enough to have generally decent skin. Apart from my chin - which tends to be a crossed between a braille dictionary, and a close up of the moons surface. Plus, every now and then I get the odd sub-surface volcano too. You know the type - under the surface but just itching to break through and make a mockery of my claims of decent skin.

What I'm looking for are miracle solutions for the following spot/zit/pimple (whatever you call them) problems:

- BLACKHEADS. Bane of my life, hard to shift ANY suggestions on products or treatments that really tackle these would be welcome.
- UNDER THE SURFACE SPOTS. Any ideas how to shift/extract/banish??
- BIG SPOTS. Miracle solutions that shrink or evaporate within hours welcome.

Any product or treatment suggestions are welcome. Even old wives tales, if they work! Or anything about things you have tried that don't work, despite hype.
