When I first opened the packet with these coloured mascaras in them, my first impression was that they just weren’t for me, since I am no longer 16. But something about the shape of the wand intrigued me (the word wand makes me want to snigger, so maybe I am still 16 in my head).
The bristles are all quite short, but vary in length along the wand – this is different to my preferred fat and fluffy mascara wand. But I wanted to give it a go.
|Left eye – electric blue. Right eye – Purple.|
Above on my right eye is the purple mascara and on the left is the bright blue. The blue is really vivid! The purple is a bit more subtle and of the brighter colours this is my preferred one.
|Left eye – black. Right eye – teal.|
Above on my right eye is the teal and on the left is the black. I was expecting to like the teal, but I really don’t think it works with my blue eyes. I do however like the black – I like the long, but natural effect.
So having tried all four colours out and despite the fact that I am going to stick by the gut instinct that brightly coloured mascara is not for me, I do like the brush and formula of these. I am impressed by the length and definition that the black version delivers.
If you are braver with colour, then tell me – do these bright mascaras appeal to you?
Collection 2000 Extreme Coloured Mascaras are £2.99 (bargain).
