I actually squealed a little when I opened the package that contained these goodies – the latest releases from Urban Decay. It’s just one of those brands that I always feel has something exciting to offer – and this Autumn is no different.
First up is their new ‘Naked Skin’ foundation – I haven’t been able to give this a proper test as the shade is too dark for me, but I have had a bit of a play and the texture is really lovely – very light, almost a little gel-like and the ‘Optical Blurring’ brush is amazing. My new favourite foundation brush – soft and smooth, with bristles that are flexible enough for delicate skin, but hard enough to give foundation a proper buff.
Naked Skin foundation is £27
Optical Blurring Brush is £18.50
Next there are some new lip products – new shade addition to the Lip Junkie plumping gloss range and a ‘super saturated high gloss lip colour’ pencil. The plumping gloss is in shade Naked 2 and the pencil in shade Naked. The Pencil is my favourite of the two – the shade is a lovely ‘my lips but better’, feels smooth and moisturising with just a nice level of gloss for daytime.
Lip Junkie Lipgloss £13
Super-Saturated High Gloss Colour £14
Next we have is my favourite of the bits I have been trying – the new Brightening & Tightening Complexion Primer Potion. I have always associated Urban Decay with great quality primers – the eye primers are my all time favourites (the shade ‘Sin’ is my favourite – a shimmering nude), so based on this I had high hopes for this primer and wasn’t disappointed. This is a light gel that absorbs easily into skin and leaves it feeling nicely hydrated, but not overly shiny – and keeps it that way all day. I used this with another of my favourite foundations and felt it looked better by the end of the day that it did without.
I do always think Primer is a nice to have, rather than a must-have, so not an essential. But it is definitely this sort of addition to a make-up routine that does give the finish that extra little boost to make it look flawless. Unlike other primers – this doesn’t feel heavy and full of silicone, it almost feels more like a skincare product rather than primer.
Brightening & Tightening Primer £19
There’s also a lovely smokey eyeshadow palette – but this deserves a whole post to itself. So keep an eye out for that soon! But as a little preview…it’s stunning (and that’s coming from a neutrals lover).
What do you think of these new bits from Urban Decay – any caught your eye?
