Shu Uemura Custom Palette

I think I’m losing track of the days/weeks/months at the moment, but a few weeks or so ago I popped along to the Shu Uemura store in Covent Garden to take a closer look at their clever little custom palettes and here’s the result!

Now decisions are not my strongest quality, I can be a bit rubbish when faced with a table filled with pretty shades… but after much um-ing and ah-ing I decided to fill my little palette with a blusher and two eye shadows. Basically all that’s needed for day to day stuff – the perfect handbag compact!

The colours I chose are:

P Medium Peach 560 (blusher)
P Light Coral 131 (eyeshadow)
ME Medium Olive 471 (eyeshadow)

The swatches are pretty self explanatory really. The blusher is one of my new favourites – and the only one I have decided to take away with me on holiday (and in fact, these are the only shadows too). The pale pink shimmer shadow is perfect for an all over highlight and the olive (shimmery olive/charcoal/grey) for a bit of anytime definition.

To me all three shades are fab quality, silky smooth and nicely pigmented. I absolutely adore the blusher, the perfect pinky/peachy combo with a nice amount of shimmer – but not too much.

These palettes are very clever – the shade pans are very compact, with just light metal casing that slot in very easily. They are flexible – you can have four shadows, or two blushers or a combo of two shadows and one blush as I went for. With a little mirror for on the go touch ups. Nice and light and compact, and as I said – very handbag friendly. Plus choosing the shades from such an amazing array of colours is very fun!

What are your on the go make-up favourites?
