Headline colors is the new name for the brand that was previously known as Killer Colors and whilst the name might have changed the idea is the same – small collections of on trend colors that are seasonal and limited edition. This is a shade from the Spring/Summer 2013 collection – and whilst for me it was a fairly predictable pick (turquoise is my weakness), the rest of the collection is far from predictable!
The other shades in the SS13 Collection include a juicy bright red, a slightly mustardy nude sort of shade, a yellow gold and a metallic grey/silver – and this super bright creamy turquoise. If anything this is the only ‘typical’ sort of Spring Summer shade in the bunch!
Formula wise, this is a great polish – smooth and easy to apply and two coats to done. Dries quickly and lasted well – when I saw a little bit of tip wear I just popped a coat of the L’Oreal Confetti top coat over it (pic above) and loved the black and white dotted finish this gave. FYI – that topcoat is a must-buy in my opinion. It’s fab.
But back to the turquoise in question here – I love the shade and love the whole Headline Colours idea. I’d like to see them do slightly more frequent collections if possible – say a separate one for Spring/Summer/Autumn/Winter. But perhaps that will come as the brand grows!?
Either way, if you’re interested in this or other colours from the collection then shop fast as when they’re gone, they’re gone! (I still wish I had bought the stunning blue from the last collection!)
