Mascara used to be my number one beauty weakness, but in recent months (or maybe even years) this has switched and blushers are very much the favourite in my make-up repetoir. I love anything that adds a healthy flush or makes me glow a little… so I decided to pick out my five picks for Spring (and Summer really) – including some old favourites and some new loves!
|L-R: Giorgio Armani, Laura Mercier, Becca, Benefit, Dainty Doll|
Starting on the left – Giorgio Armani Blushing Fabric*. This is a new addition to my make-up collection and it has basically walked on in and stomped all over my previous loves and made itself the absolute king of all blushers. This is shade three and it’s a pink with a slight pop of peach to keep it perfectly flattering on the cheeks. Texture wise, this is a silicone smooth cream blush that’s an absolute breeze to apply and blend and leaves skin looking like it has just naturally blushed rather than been applied. Seriously cannot fault these blushers – amazing. Available from John Lewis.
Next in the line up we have the gorgeous Laura Mercier cream blusher in the shade ‘Rosebud’* – a warm bright pink – that doubles up as a rather gorgeous lip colour too! Creamy and pigmented – and a gorgeous shade. Looks really flattering when applied. Available from Space NK
When going for a slightly more nude/bronze type of cheek colour I’ve been turning to the Becca Beach Tint in Fig*. Something very different for me – but I like the soft nude shade for a natural bit of definition or an alternative to bronzer for cheek colour. Plus this is another multi-use product as can be used on cheeks or lips. Becca is exclusively available to Space NKin the UK right now (yes, it’s back!!!)
Then comes an all time blusher love – Benefit Coralista. Seriously, this is one of my ultimate all time blushers and very much an ‘if in doubt’ – I always know I can turn to this and immediately look and feel healthier than I did before. A true coral shade with just enough shimmer to offer a glow. Couldn’t be more perfect for the warmer months and works perfectly on pale or tanned skin. Available from Benefit.co.ukor Debenhams
Then my other most recent pick is Dainty Doll powder blusher in ‘My Girl’ – a cool toned pink shade with a bit of a cooler shimmer and a bit of a lilac tone to it. This would work better on paler skin tones than tanned (hence it being part of the Dainty Doll range – designed by Nicola Roberts). The shimmer on this makes cheeks look nice and healthy and I’ve been loving this recently. These are in a bit of short supply now though – but mine was a bargain from Fragrancedirect.
There we have my top five picks of blushers for Spring… I do love a bit of blusher!
