Yes, the rumour is true – the much coveted brightly coloured lip balms from across the pond are making their UK debut tomorrow! I have to say, I’m a total sucker for hype and am really over excited about this fact! Of course, at the end of the day – they’re lip balms, so not really anything to get your knickers in a twist about. But having tried and failed to hunt these down last time I was in New York so not yet having the chance to try I was very excited to give them a whirl!
The four variations I have to play with are: Pink Punch (pink tube, yellow writing), Hydrate (blue tube, pink writing), Cherry Me (orange tube, pink writing) and Mint Fresh (green tube, purple writing).
Essentially, two non-tinted ones (hydrate and mint fresh) and two tinted ones (pink punch and cherry me). So if you want just a pop of moisture, there’s options or if you want moisture, plus colour – you have that too.
It is early days of playing with these, but first impressions of the ‘Hydrate’ one are really good. I applied in the morning and by the end of the day my lips still felt significantly better than they normally do. Lots softer and smoother.
Scent wise – the Cherry Me one smells delicious! The mint one doesn’t smell all that strong, but feels really menthol-ish on the lips and Pink Punch really smells of sweet, sugary, candy mixed with a bit of Um-Bongo (remember that?!). First impressions wise, I think the simple Hydrate and tinted/yummy smelling Cherry Me are my two picks from this selection. Will be hard pushed to resist picking up all variations though… can’t beat a good lip balm!
As I said, at the end of the day they really are just good lip balms in fun, colourful packaging – but what more do you want?! Looking for a lip balm that does the job – then jump on the fun Baby Lips bandwagon!
Baby Lips are launching tomorrow (24th July) on Boots but not sure exactly when. To sign up to be on the waiting list and one of the first to know then head to boots.com/babylips
