First on the list is this Dropped waist polka dot dress from ASOS. I used to love dropped waist dresses as felt they were more flattering but then was promptly corrected. But then I changed my mind and decided I like them again, as long as they’re a loose smock style. Really like the style of this dress and love that it will work just as easily with bare legs now as it will with tights as we move into Autumn (although with the rain pouring outside my window right now, I wouldn’t be surprised if someone told me it was Autumn already).
Next up is my usual guilty wishlist item – the Grey polka dot swing dress – and by guilty, I mean that I’m guilty of having already ordered this one… ASOS really do some lovely swing dress, jersey styles. They’re super easy to wear and massively flattering. In fact, they are a regular addition to the wish list in the same was as they’re a regular addition to my own wardrobe. Another style that’s ideal for now into Autumn. Plus it’s grey, and I really like all things grey.
Next is another unusual one for me – the Polka Dot Playsuit from Boohoo.com – I’m not usually a playsuit fan. I like the look of them, but the idea of having to totally strip every time you need the loo makes me think they’re more hassle than they’re worth. But this one really caught my eye – I think it’s the combination of the long sleeves and high neck, keeps the whole thing cute and not too skimpy.
I’ve also got a bit of a thing for the look of ankle boots with a skirt or dress. And not wanting to develop the stinkiest feet in the world, a pair of socks is needed. So why not make them cute and frilly with a hint of polka dot – like these Spotty Socks from Topshop. Now, I adore these, but still not sure I’m quite cool enough to pull off the ankle boots and socks thing… but these are still too cute to resist.
I recently realised I have a bit of a shortage of easy to wear skirts. I have dresses coming out of my ears, but lacking on the skirt front. So this Spotty Skirt via Boohoo would be a welcome addition (in black, not navy for me – I always make the error of mistaking navy tights for black or vice versa and ending up feeling a bit awkward in the mis-match).
Lastly, I couldn’t avoid a little spotty nod to the weather with this cute Spotty Umbrella in the ASOS sale. I do need a new umbrella soon and must avoid buying yet another cheap quick fix from Primark. One hint of breeze and it’s inside out and threatening to skewer poor passers by.
So there we have it – a polka dot special weekend wish list! What trends/colours/patterns are heading up your wish list this week!?
