Ah Essie, can they do no wrong!? There’s something about every collection that just hooks us bloggers in and always seems to hit the spot – this is the Essie Spring 2014 collection and with a blend of brights, pastels and nudes… manages to yet again get a big nod of approval from me.
With six shades in the collection it manages to cover almost all bases – nudes, brights and pastels. The nude ‘Spin the Bottle’ is a very flattering one for paler skin as it managed to strike that nude/pink balance really nicely so it flatters rather than drains. The brights – Style Hunter and Hide and Go Chic are classic Spring slightly nautical shades of red and blue. The red has a tinge of the raspberry to it and the blue is pretty much the middle of the road Royal Blue (in fact, it reminds me of my old Primary School uniform that was also Royal Blue).
Then there’s the trio of pastels – with Fashion Playground – similar to the famous ‘Mint Candy Apple’ but with an added touch of silvery sheen to keep it slightly cooler. Then the baby pink Romper Room – a cute colour, but personally not one I go mad for as I don’t tend to get won over by baby pinks personally. But in the mix with the mint and blue it does look pretty. Then there’s Truth or Flare – a blue/grey cream shade that I think feels like the most unique of the bunch and my personal favourite (I’m wearing it as I type…)
Which shades stand out to you from the Essie Spring 2014 * collection?!
