Revlon are pretty much leading the pack with their exciting launches at the moment – with the Colorburst Matte Balms and Parfumerie polishes being top of my list. This is a new launch from them – another on the lip front and I think it’s going to go down rather well. It’s in the same sort of product ‘family’ as the YSL Glossy Stains – it applies like a gloss, but dries down to leave a stain on the lips so you get the moisture and shine of a gloss to start with and then the finish and staying power of a stain.
The four shades shown here are (L-R): Milan Moment, Shanghai Sizzle, La Exclusive, India Intrigue.
The one I’ve been wearing a lot recently is the pink La Exclusive – it looks quite ‘Barbie’ pink in the swatch – but on the lips it adds just a nice pop of brightening colour – definitely doesn’t look as baby pink on the lips as it does in the swatch.
For a standout lip, I really like Shanghai Sizzle – as I’m a bit obsessed with orange toned reds at the moment. Milan Moment is a pretty nude, although I think right now my skin tone is a little too pale for it – if you’re more tanned than me (not hard…) then this will potentially look lovely. Also, India Intriugue is another pretty shade – with a soft hint of shimmer to it too. India Intrigue is the one that I think looks most different on the lips compared to when swatched – much less ‘berry’ and more bright fuchsia.
My top pick of these four shades – Shanghai Sizzle – it’s a stunner!
Revlon ColorStay Moisture Stain will be available from Boots (from August)
