Ok, so planning a wedding is fun and all that – but I can certainly vouch for the stress side of things. From plans getting complicated, to balancing a budget, to disagreements or just general frustrations. It is a testing time – if you get through that then I’d say you can get through anything (slightly tounge in cheek… but partly true) – so I’ve been reaching for a few stress beating products over the final weeks in the run up to make sure I was chilling out enough and getting a good nights sleep.
For me, a nice relaxing bath and pamper is one of the most relaxing things I can imagine. So I’d start with a scoop of Aveda Stress-Fix Soaking Salts * before taking a bit of me-time in the bath whilst perusing the latest copy of Allure. I can’t honestly say how these work, but there’s something magic about bath salts for chilling me out – sure, foam is great and maybe feels a bit more luxe. But these are fab if you’re in need of a stress break.
Then post bath in the week or two before the wedding I was using L’Occitane’s new Relaxing Body Cream * . it smells lovely with a mix of Lavender, Bergamot, Mandarin, Sweet Orange and Geranium oils with shea butter and sweet almond oil. It’s nice that it doesn’t just go down the typical Lavender route but adds the citrus elements and a touch of floral to make it a warm sweet scent that has something a bit like a warm late Summer day in there. Sweet and comforting somehow. I have a soft spot for orange scents so love this. Feels pampering and the scent does really take the edge of the day.
As a finishing touch I’ve been using the This Works Deep Sleep Stress Less roller ball * on pulse points just before bed. Leaning heavily on the lavender oil as a sleep promoter this is the proper pre-bed scent. I don’t reall know if it works, but I know that the wind-down routine of using it really helps me switch off.
Hope this little trio of goodies might help you take a breather and chill out a bit. Everyone needs that bit of relax time – make sure you make time for it for your own sanity!
