Ah, be still my heart. MAC have really captured my attention with their collections recently in a way they maybe haven’t quite done for a while. This one takes it to a new level though. Neutral shades? Gorgeous packaging? Tick and tick. I can’t say I’ve been a life long Brooke Shields fan in all honesty, but she was in a movie called ‘Pretty Baby’, which was connected to my chosen dissertation topic. So for some reason I have a weakness for her for that. Having said that, I am a big fan of the general ‘all American girl’ look and she pretty much embodies that, so I had high hopes for the collection – and was not disappointed. Just take a peek…
Just look at those palette shades – aren’t they gorgeous? Ok, so if you don’t like shimmer then you probably won’t quite be as enamoured as I am – but if you do… *insert heart eyes emoji here*. Oh my goodness. Plus it’s so compact – and the size of the shadows mean I could possibly even see myself hitting pan one day. That almost never happens for me!? The shades actually remind me of a Bobbi Brown shimmer brick – and I’m sure you could give a big bronzer brush a swirl and get a similar glow. But for me, these are shadow shades and ones I adore at that. If you like the Urban Decay Naked Palette 3 then these will be right up your street with their warm/pink tones. The shadows don’t each have names, but the palette is the MAC Brooke Shields Veluxe Pearlfusion Shadow in ‘Mortal’ (which I find especially amusing as I’m having a bit of a Geordie Shore moment…loving a Mortal Marathon…)
Then, along side the shadow palette of dreams there is the Lipglass in Artful – a ‘soft mid-toned coral’. Again, hitting the nail on the head with my dream gloss shade… zero shimmer, gorgeous pop of colour.
Beyond these two bits, the collection is seriously extensive – there’s lipstick (two shades), lipglass (one other than Artful), another Veluxe Pearlfusion Shadow palette, a 15 shade eyeshadow palette (oh how I’m lusting after this baby), a couple of brow products (of course, has to be for the woman who brought the original statement brow) a cream colour base duo, a bronzer and two nail shades.
See what I meant by extensive!
