Of all the things NARS is known for, nail varnish I think it’s fair to say isn’t it’s number one. Although the range of colours is good, and quality – it just didn’t really stand out above all the other fab products from the brand. But they have reformulated it and I have a few shades to have a look at. Including a gorgeous blue from the 3.2 Phillip Lim collection. Ranging from classic pinky red shades, to dark black and of course a natural looking baby pink. There’s quite a range just in the selection I have here.
The shads I have are (left to right): Shameless Red, Obscura, Back Room, Dark Room (3.2 Phillip Lim) amd Ithaque. The stand outs for me are Back Room and Dark Room – both lovely dark and moody shades for Autumn. It is hard to find a good quality black polish that managed to be pure black, glossy and pigmented enough to not look streaky and this one hits the nail on the head. I’ve not been one for black nails before, but this definitely appeals to me this season.
Shameless Red does lean towards the pink spectrum of the shade and is a pretty colour – maybe one for warmer months. The only one I’m not totally sold on is Ithaque and that’s mainly down to it just not being my shade of choice – naturally a baby pink will be more sheer than a navy blue – so next to the darker colours it does look a little pale and un-interesting. But if you’re someone who likes to keep nails on the natural side then check it out.
These polishes new formula is really good quality and definitely one to take a closer look at if there is a shade that tickles your fancy.
