As much as I love a bold lip colour, day to day there’s no denying an easy to apply sheer wash of colour is much easier to manage on the go. Its the sort of colour I can apply on a moving tube train without worry of accidentally looking like a clown when I hop off. This for me equals a winner. It’s also good to go sheer and moisturising if you’re prone to dry lips like I am. Today I have a little selection of sheer hydrating shades from the Max Factor Colour Intensifying Balm range to show you.
The three shades here (from left to right) are Rich Chocolate, Voluptuous Pink and Charming Coral. So a dark brown toned berry shade, a bright pink and a orange/coral shade. Which I think is a pretty good range to get an idea of shade and colour pay off…
So the swatches above give you an idea of the colour. These are each just two swipes of the colour so you can see that whilst they’re sheer and definitely on the balm side – they’re also not so sheer that they’re a bit pointless. They will add a wash of colour, but in a way that allows your natural lip colour to show through and will look just a wash rather than painted on lipstick. The best thing to me about these lip colours though is how hydrating they are too – so they add colour but also add a slick of moisture too so lips don’t feel dry when these are worn. Which is why the ‘Voluptuous Pink’ has become one of my most-worn this summer so far.
