I have to admit that whilst I have been a signed-up member of Brandalley.co.uk for a while, it isn’t somewhere that springs to mind when I think of bargain beauty shopping online. The idea behind Brand Alley is basically that it is an online destination for designer sales. But with a bit of a twist, in that different brands are launched at different times so there is never a guarantee as to what you might find on the site. This means that the site can be a combination of shoppers frustration, and addiction!
On one hand it’s addictive – checking online each day to see what they have on sale. But it’s also frustrating as once a product is gone, it’s gone. There is no coming back into stock and whilst I’m about to tell you what I bought, if you look on the site today you will find a totally different selection of products. In fact, I have just checked and there is a rather fab sale of DuWop make-up and a selection of salon-style products on at the moment, with upto 50% off the DuWop range. When I made my purchase (more details in a moment) there were some great bargains to be had from St Tropez & Benefit (plus some non-beauty ones from Ravel…)
One thing I want to note is the delivery side of things. If you are looking for something for next day delivery then Brandalley isn’t the place to go, it’s a place for bargains but not necessarily speedy ones. My delivery is due to arrive at some point in the next month – but when exactly is anyones guess! I think delivery time is what you have to compromise on to get the deals.
So, about my purchase – I was invited by the Brandalley peeps to make a purchase on the site and then run a competition for you guys to win a £50 Brandalley voucher, to spend on anything you like. The trick being that to win, you have to guess how much money I saved on my order. So here are the details of what I bought & how much they were (but not the RRP, that would be cheating)..
Benefit Slippin n’ Dippin Creaseless Cream – £7
Benefit Lipstick in ‘Do Tell’ – £6.50
LA Miracle (see British Beauty Blogger for info) – £13
St Tropez Perfect Legs – £9.50
Rochas Pink Nail Varnish – £3
Ravel Leopard Print Peep-Toe Shoes – £30
Ravel Brown Court Shoes – £31
Total price: £100 (+£4.95 delivery)
But… how much WOULD that have cost, if bought at full RRP?
