Nails of the MONTH: Artistic Colour Gloss.

I’ve been hearing a lot about the gellish/long lasting manicures online recently and I have been very tempted, but as usual wasn’t quite organised enough to get around to booking in (although I have bought a wahanda deal for a long lasting manicure at a salon close to work, so I am a step closer…).

But all that changed this week when I was invited to go along and find out about the new range of super long lasting nail colours from Hollywood ‘celeb’ MANicurist, Tom Bachik. The range is called Artistic Colour Gel and the products are long lasting soak-off gel colours that promise to last up to 21 days. Yep, I did type that correctly – 21 days. Considering that I’m pretty pleased if my manicure lasts more than 48 hours without chipping, I’m definitely interested.

There are 38 colours in the range, and not just the average pink shades either. There is everything from an amazing Wizard of Oz style sparkly red, to the grey-purple type shades that I personally love. I decided to go with a classic deep red for my manicure as decided that was  the best bet for something I wouldn’t get bored of and that would go with everything for the duration of the manicure. I took a selection of pictures of the colour on the day I had it done with my trusty iphone, so afraid they aren’t the most amazing quality but they do show the colour accurately.

No flash, artificial light.

With flash.

The colour application is basically just as any normal manicure but with an extra prep layer and the addition of the light machine thingy (that’s the technical name) to ‘set’ the colour. When I say set, I really mean set – and this is the MAJOR selling point for me. You put your fingers inside this machine for around 30seconds, it beeps and when you remove your fingers the colour is totally dry. Not just touch dry, but solid 100% totally dry. Completely removing the whole issue of reaching into bag for phone/keys/oyster card & smudging the nails. Plus none of that annoying pillow-fabric pattern on the nails when I go to bed thinking they are dry but they aren’t.

Also worth a note is how seriously glossy these babies are. They are still so shiny that I would almost think they are still wet, if I didn’t know better. Amazing.

I’ll post again to show how the manicure is holding up in (hopefully) a couple of weeks! But until then I plan to look perfectly manicured with minimal effort on my part.

The Artistic Colour Gloss treatment will cost around £25 for a full set at salons nationwide. See www.louellabelle.co.uk or call 0844 800 9396 for further details.

I ALWAYS get the pillow marks!

Is this out now? And do they file the top layer of your nail off? I hated that…

Is this ‘lasts 21 days depending on what you do with your hands’?

I work with my hands in a kinda harsh enviroment for nail polish, and Im lucky if it hasn’t all gone poof by lunch time, something that could last longer would be a miracle in my book.

I apply OPI Axxium gel over my natural nails and then simply apply whatever polish I choose over that.. I fill them every couple weeks but my polish lasts the entire time (the polish may wear off a bit on the edges but that’s it). I’ve never tried this brand of manicure.
Check out the OPI Axxium too!

Beautiful colours and a nice shine to boot!
A few days later…how are they holding up?
Do you think it will last 21 days?

They’re holding up amazingly well – almost two weeks and no chip or tip wear to be seen. Only reason I don’t think it will last 21 days is the re-growth, my nails grow quite quickly so the gap between the colour and the cuticle is getting quite big now!x

I met someone with these the other day and they looked fantastic, really glossy and great depth of colour.
