Yes, that’s right – we have another beauty box to take a little look at! I know beauty boxes are the sort of thing that really split opinion – firstly on contents, but secondly just as an overall idea – some love them, some find them a bit of a waste of time. Personally I stand in the camp of liking them – when they’re done well. I think some beauty box companies have leant towards being slightly complacent in the past – but the latest wave and boxes I’ve seen have reminded me of what beauty boxes are all about. A fairly low investment, for a few exciting treats – all with the fun and surprise factor of the unknown delivery (unless you read a spoiler like this…). This box is one of the ‘one off’ boxes, rather than a subscription approach and is a partnership between Latest in beauty and BeautyMart – to offer the Latest in Beauty BeautyMART box.
But as always…the all important question is what’s in the box…

This box is a mix of real stand-out products and some slightly less ‘wow’ ones. Overall it has nine items compared to the five/six you usually see in a regular beauty box. It does have a couple of products/samples I’m less excited about – the Astalift Jelly Aquarysta Sachet and the Mary Greenwell Plum perfume sample are both on the ‘meh’ side. Purely because I don’t think a sachet that size is enough to get a proper idea of if you like the product enough to buy and on perfume samples I just don’t find them that exciting – although admittedly, this one does smell really nice.
There are a few really nice products in there though – many more ‘ooh’ moments than there were ‘meh’..so lets take a look at these:
Rimmel London BB Cream – love the dinky size, quite a surprise to find a high street brand such as Rimmel in there. But if you want a BB without the sheen, this is a great option.
Yu-Be Moisturising Skin Care – This is a product that’s shown up in many a beauty box, but the big difference this time is that the sample is a bigger size – which has me more excited as I feel there’s enough there to try and use and actually get an idea what it’s like and if I’d like to purchase.
Weleda Skin Food – This is a product I have already tried and like, it’s a super hydrating, fairly thick cream that my dry skin absolutely loves. Especially elbows and hands. Like this decent size of travel sample too.
DHC Deep Cleansing Oil – Another one I’ve tried and like – it was the first oil cleanser I used back in 2009 and totally changed my view of oil cleansers. They are now and have been a staple in my routine since then, and these are the perfect weekend away size of cleanser so happy to see this in there.
Kevin Murphy Colour Bug – I really, really want to try these temporary colours…but with the wedding coming up I have a slight fear that something would go wrong and somehow I’d be left with purple hair. Not ideal. I’m sure this wouldn’t happen as they are designed to wash out – but my irrational fear holds me back from using this right now!
Then there are the two products which are both the real stand-out ones for me. The Balmain Silk Perfume – a hair fragrance that smells fantastic, leaves hair smelling just as good and feeling silky soft (without weighing down) and the Bronze Buffer Tan Remover. I first saw the Bronze Buffer at a launch for some of the new products hitting the shelves at BeautyMART and it was one that really caught my eye after a demonstration. The fairly innocent looking white foamy star is an absolute genius at removing fake tan – streaks, or darker patches etc. It’s one of those ‘how did I live without it’ products. So very happy to have had the chance to try this via a beautybox as it will certainly be a Summer staple.
Best bit about this box – the whole thing is £12.95 (plus p&p) – considering the Balmain Silk Perfume alone is £24.95..that’s a bit of a bargain.

Wow – I don’t know what you do with all these lovely samples! Do you have a routine way of how you use them?!
