My Beauty New Years Resolutions

So, Christmas is over and 2010 is just around the corner I thought it would be a good time to think about my new year resolutions (beauty-wise, of course).

1. Sort out my cuticles

I have a nightmare with my cuticles. This is mostly my own fault as I have a bit of a habit of picking at them (gross, I know). This year I plan to look after them and get them into a much better condition by the end of the year.

2. Be a bit more ‘polished’

This covers a few things, including getting (or giving myself) regular manicures and pedicures plus being a bit more regular with my fake-tanning – to avoid my weekly tan/pale/tan/pale routine. Using a gradual tanner every other day is the way forward.

3. Look after my hair

This mainly boils down to not going longer than 8 weeks without a haircut (or at least a trim). I also want to do a weekly deep conditioning treatment plus never use heat on my hair without a protecting product.

I was going to add in a resolution to not buy stuff that I don’t need, but then I didn’t want to be ridiculous….. so instead I thought I would throw in a couple that aren’t beauty-related:

4. Buy more classic clothes rather than trends

I had a huge wardrobe clear-out this year and have got rid of anything that I never wear. Some of this includes stuff I haven’t really worn and even some bits that I love but just doesn’t suit or flatter me. So I was ruthless and got rid of loads of stuff, donating it to charity shops after giving my friends first dibs on some stuff. I plan to continue keeping my wardrobe a bit more streamlined this year, by only buying classic, decent quality items rather than cheap trends.

5. Exercise more

I’m no gym bunny (understatement) but plan to incorporate some exercise into my life this year.

Nice list. I was a little surprised that being on a no/low buy wasn’t part of your list since it’s on that of everyone else I’ve talked to, but maybe it’s an American thing? Lol. I’m still working on my list.

Thanks! I know, I probably should havee put buy less on there too – I will be aiming to only buy things I deem as needing, but on the other hand – without buying stuff I wont have anything new to write aboout on here (that’s my excuse anyway…) 🙂

That’s a great idea about the buying more ‘classic clothes’,I will be definitely aiming to do that as well.I think I should try and do that with beauty purchases as well actually,in stead of buying cheapy eyeshadows in colours that are not really my style I should save up for more special items

Happy New Year when it comes 🙂 xx

@scarlettholly Glad you like the blog! I just picked up the Lemony Flutter Cuticle Butter from Lush, so hope that will help me out on the cuticle front!

@Bluebell Happy new year to you too! I’m definately trying to build up my quality make-up collection, but sometimes just cant resist the odd ‘drug store’ bargain – aiming not to go overboard in 2010 though.
