Nubar Chocolate Truffles: Review

I was recently sent the colour ‘Raspberry Truffle’ from the new Nubar Chocolate Truffles collection. The collection includes six shades that all look and sound as though they are good enough to eat (probably connected to the names… that include ‘Chocolate Covered Caramel’, ‘Cherry Cordial’, and ‘Milk Chocolate Creme’… yep, I’m salivating just writing them) the shades range from a rich and creamy brown through to a deep berry red. Gorgeous shades for Christmas and winter in general.

Raspberry Truffle is a deep wine red with a fine sparkle running through it. When I first saw the bottle I did think that the sparkle might be a bit ‘bling‘ for me (I’m not a fan of glitter) but when applied it really is such a fine glitter that none of the normal problems with glitter ruining the glossy finish and feeling a bit rough.

This colour is SO gorgeous and perfectly festive. It’s going to be a tough choice between wearing this one or Revlon Red on Christmas Day. At the moment I think it will have to be this one as it just looks so rich and glamorous that it is the perfect shade for festiveness.
The picture above is amazingly, only one coat over a base coat. The texture and consistency is really smooth and you would almost forget that there is any glitter in it, plus the pigmentation is really high so one coat delivers a deep and even colour although two coats is usually ideal with any nail varnish. I would suggest that a base coat is essential for any dark colour, or any colour in general that contains glitter. Without it glitter can be a huge pain to get off. Once a top coat had been applied this was perfectly even, glossy and generally rather fabulous.
The Nubar Chocolate Truffles Collection is available from for £8 each.

I’d say it’s perfect color for fall… but it’s just as perfect for winter hehe (=

It is a gorgeous colour – I was really suprised by how much I loved it when I’m not normally a ‘glitter’ person. It’s lovely!
