On Saturday I went down to Liberty to meet Ivan Castro – celebrity make-up artist who has been working with the brand almost since it’s creation, and has worked with celebs including Lady Gaga and Nicole Kidman.
Ivan was lovely, very friendly – making me feel comfortable straight away. Which isn’t always easy, when sometimes having a stranger apply your make-up can be a bit awkward (or is that just me?) Plus he has amazing hair and is clearly very experienced at posing for the camera! I should have picked up some tips…
During my appointment Ivan introduced me to a few of the bits from the endless summer collection from Le Metier plus a few of the products from the permanent range. Stand-outs for me are the jade eye shadow, a gorgeous emerald green eye shadow (can see this in the face picture below (along the lash line) and the liquid bronzer. I was quite surprised to like the green shadow as I wasn’t sure it would work for my eye colour, but combined with gold as a contrast it was lovely.
The liquid bronzer is really gorgeous, an iridescent shimmering bronze (rather than gold/orange) that applies lightly and leaves a sun kissed, healthy glow behind. Absolutely stunning product, but I honestly can’t see myself parting with the £56 that this beauty costs. But as always, every one’s budgets are different – so this is worth a look if it works for yours.
I also really loved the midnight blue mascara – this was layered over the mascara I already had on and did a great job of adding a very subtle bit of colour without clumping. Ivan also used a pretty pink lipstick and a nude gloss to create a subtle lip that was almost nude, but not quite concealer-lips. It was lovely and lasted really well (about 2 hours) but the pictures below were taken in the evening so afraid the lippie had worn off by then.
So what do you think about the collection/look he created? Have you tried anything from Le Metier or are you tempted to?
