Paul & Joe: The Blue Horizon Summer Collection

Paul & Joe have easily some of the most dressing-table worthy packaging I’ve seen. I love the vintage style – they are just so girly! Well, Paul & Joe have recently released their summer collection called ‘Blue Horizon’ – inspired by the ‘tranquility of the ocean’.

The collection is all about lazy, easy to do, holiday beauty. An easy sweep of peachy bronzer, a slick of eye gloss for colour, applying the eyeshadow with your fingers, shimmering lip gloss…. in colours that work amazingly with a tan. You get the picture, it’s all about summer.

The number 1 stand out products for me were the eye glosses – there are some of these in the permanent collection but the three limited edition ones are really gorgeous. I was introduced to the amazing combination of orange with blue eyes by Paul & Joe’s Craig-Ryan French. As a neutral lover, I have never really considered wearing orange at all – but he applied it & it really made my eyes look brighter. Plus the gloss duo is called ‘California girl’ which is basically what I am (in my head, obviously) so that has me totally sold!

Other products that caught my eye were the two blue nail varnishes from the collection – both with lots of shimmer/glitter (which normally is a total turn off for me) but they are so pretty!

Also well worth a mention are the gorgeous swirly eye shadows – which almost look too pretty to use, but magically, you can smudge the swirls with your finger and then give them a sweep with a brush and it returns to it’s pretty swirlyness. The picture of the shadow below is after I have swatched it, and then cleaned it up with a brush – good as new!

Firstly – I love the packaging for the below eyeshadow – I want this pattern as wall paper (if you have any idea where I can find something like this, let me know)!

The shade is called ‘Adrift’ and I find it really interesting as it looks like a pinky purple in the pan, but when swatched it turns into a more murky taupe/purple – which I love.

I think the shade is far more subtle/wearable than it initially looks in the pan. You could also be careful with a brush and use the shades separately if you fancied a change. But personally, I love the blended colour and the ease of just swiping your fingers or a brush over it is a win for me.
