MAC Heavenly Creature purchases

Here’s a little look at my two purchases from the new MAC Heavenly Creature collection. I knew I wanted to get my hands on the much sought after Cut a Caper lipstick as I missed it first time around, but seem in capable of just buying single items – so had to choose something else and after looking at swatches online decided on Ring of Saturn Mineralise Blush.

I am absolutely over the moon with the Cut a Caper lipstick (more images below) – so much so that I might do something I have NEVER done with a MAC collection before and buy a back up. I can’t *really* justify it as I don’t think I’ve ever totally finished a lipstick off, but still.. the fear of losing this makes me want a back up. It’s such a perfectly flattering peachy shade, with just enough pink to keep it flattering. Plus it’s a gorgeous Lustre finish, leaving a sheeny gloss – this is now hands-down my favourite lipstick shade in my collection. I love it.
The blusher on the other hand… is nice, but I’m not blown away by it. I do have a weakness for mineralise products – purely because they look gorgeous and this is no exception. It’s a very pretty product, but the shade just isn’t as lovely as I had hoped and with the amount of shimmer, it’s not an easy one for daytime wear unfortunately. That’s not to say I don’t like it, I do – but compared for my love for Cut a Caper, this one leaves me a little bit flat.
In swatches I had seen online it was compared to the infamous NARS Orgasm, a shade I love and in the family (peachy, with golden shimmer) of blusher shades I prefer – so I went for it hoping it to be along those lines and it is, sort of. Like any duo-coloured product, the final colour you get will vary depending on what ratio of the two colours you have. But it can be a pretty corally/peachy shade with the right mix, but as I said – use a light hand or the shimmer can be too much.

MAC Cut a Caper Lipstick

Has anything caught your eye from the Heavenly Creature collection? Any other lovers of Cut a Caper out there… I can’t get over how much I love this shade! This is definitely my must have from the collection.

On a side note, I ordered these online – the first time I have not bought a MAC product in store. Overall I was impressed, the delivery was very quick and products arrived in once piece. Would do that again if there’s specific products that I want from a collection that launches online first.

Bought by me.

I wanted Cut A Caper but it sold out before I could grab it, I’m the opposite with buying mineralise products because like you said I’m scared of the ratio I’ll get !
    Thanks for sharing! xx
