MAC Lipstick Collection

This is one of those posts which has been requested a few times, but until recently I only had about four  so didn’t think it was really worth a full post.. but I’ve added a couple more, including a much loved ones that’s worth practically a whole blog dedicated to it, let alone a blog post!

So here we go with a little look at my collection of MAC lipstick shades!

L-R: Viva Glam Cyndi, Vegas Volt, Shy Girl, Angel, Cut a Caper, Lovelorn, Cream Cup

Viva Glam Cyndi (Lustre): A deep wine sort of shade, looks different in all sorts of lights – bright in some, deep in others. I like it, but don’t love it.

Vegas Volt* (Amplified): Only for the brave… not for the shy and retiring, but it is a shade I love. Perfect for Summer, if I ever manage a tan – or a night out for a quick day-to-night change.

Shy Girl (Cremesheen): Loved at first, now not sure. I think it’s just a touch too peachy for me and washes me out.

Angel (Frost) : This was my first ever lipstick from MAC (you can probably tell from the photos…it’s the stubby one) and I do still love it. Although again, in some lights it’s more flattering than others.

Cut a Caper (Lustre): My newest love, absolutely adore this. Perfect peachy/pink hybrid shade and love the finish – it’s nice and sheer and glossy.

Lovelorn (Lustre): Another new one that I’ve barely worn, but like this for a more pinky toned nude shade and love the Lustre finish.

Cream Cup (Cremesheen): Yet another nude… probably should stop buying them now. This is the most nude/my-lips-but-better shade of the bunch, basically a blogger-hype purchase, wanted to see if it lived up to it’s reputation.

Overall, my number one is easily Cut a Caper (promise I’ll stop going on about it soon) with Angel and Lovelorn as close seconds. My favourite finish seems to be Lustre, but that’s more of a subconscious choice as I purchase the shades rather than the finish… For any future purchases I’m going to look at the brighter shades, possibly Girl About Town….?

Any of these stand out to you as must haves to track down (sorry a couple are LE – I’ve put these in italics)

Those with a * was a PR sample. Others all bought by me.

girl about town is great for a night out, it tends to last all night. I think the formulation of the amplified lipsticks are my favourite, as I have dry lips and they’re nice and creamy!
