Following on from my post on the L’Oreal Glam Matte Lip Gloss collection that’s part of the denim collection I now bring you three out of four of the L’Oreal Jeans Effect Nail Collection shades. Looking at these in the bottle they’re just my sort of thing – especially that cornflower blue coloured one. But what differs about these is that they’re not just your typical glossy nail shades – they have a texture that they dry down to that is designed to look a little like the texture of denim.
So the texture is that sort of slightly matte, grainy effect. To be honest, it’s one of those nail effect trends that I pretty much just don’t ‘get’. I mean, it’s not offensive at all – it just doesn’t really make sense to me as to why you might want slightly gritty textured nails. BUT, that being said – it does have a major plus side in that these textured nail shades do dry super fast.
Colour wise, I adore Azur Salopette – the cornflower blue/lilac shade and wish they would do this in a simple cream/glossy finish. The coral ‘Jean and Tonic’ is also very pretty for Summer. The darker indigo shade ‘Indigo Clasique’ is a beaut, but probably one I’m more likely to save for colder months.
My overall view of these are that they’re very pretty colours but personally the texture thing is a bit of a turn off for me. Although I do really adore that cornflower blue colour so if anything is tempting me away from typically glossy nails, this will be it.
What’s your view on texture nail effects – yay or nay?!
