Models Own are on fire with the new collections and colours right now. The latest one hitting shelves is the Models Own Icing Collection – and it’s the first one in a while that really had me going ‘ooh’ on first look. Ok, so pastels for Spring is hardly groundbreaking but I do like how fresh these sugary-sweet nail colours are – they wouldn’t look out of place on top of a cupcake, and look equally good on your fingertips. There are a couple of shades in particular that made me do the real-life heart-eyes emoji… but more on those at the bottom after some pretty pictures.
The colours are sort of bright pastels… if you know what I mean. The purple reminds me of a pastel/neon sort of shade. Hard to really describe, but manage to be really bright at the same time as having that white-down pastel look to them too.
There are five shades in the collection (from left to right):
Mint Icing: A turquoise shade
Nude Icing: A nude shade
Lilac Icing: A purple shade (brighter than lilac in my opinion…)
Peach Icing: A peachy/orange shade
Pink Icing: A pale baby pink shade
The names aren’t the most wildly exciting, they’re simply descriptive. Quality of application wise, they’re all good on two coats with only the peach and pink shades maybe needing that little bit more effort for a perfect finish. As is normal with paler shades usually.
Favourite picks? Well, it has to be Mint and Lilac as my absolute favourites. Love them both – lovely bright shades that have me all excited for warmer days! I do also like the nude, but not sure it flatters my skintone personally.

Models Own is coming out with some pretty cool shades this Spring! So much love for these pastel shades, especially the mint and the peach.
These shades are so pretty, I love them all, especially the purple! I’ve never tried Models Own before.
