So Birchbox has hit the UK and here’s a peek at the contents of my first Birchbox from January 2013. It’s a mixed box, a couple of really exciting products and a couple that leave me a little on the meh side…I’ll share my overall view at the end of this post.
So for me, the two really exciting products are the KMS Blow Dry spray an the Fresh Sugar Rose Lip Treatment – both products I have had on my beauty lust-list for a while and I’m really excited to get to try before I go out and purchase full sized versions.
I think these are both fantastic products to have in a beauty box, they’re known brands but still not those that are so easily available that they aren’t exciting. Plus of course they’re decent sizes.
Of the other products, the little Tea Pigs sachet is a nice addition – I like when the boxes aren’t just straight beauty and a bit more of a lifestyle mix.
The J&E Atkinsons I Coloniali sachet is interesting – a brand I’ve never heard of, so curious to try. Although I do find sachets a bit too small to give the product a proper go. The little pot of Wild Body Butter is cute – but the fact that there are two similar body moisturiser products is a little bit disappointing as it’s nice to have a bit more variety.
The Wei Serum is also interesting, I’ve tried a couple of Wei things and liked them so far, so interested but again probably not quite big enough to form a proper opinion on how impressive the product is.
Overall, love the KMS and the Fresh Lip Treatment – so really happy with these, the other products are nice but not quite as exciting. But as always, a beauty box is always going to be a mixed bag! I’ll be really interested to see what Birchbox do next in the UK!
