Hair Heroes

Hair is one of the things that in all my time blogging I’ve not been that fickle with – I have tended to find things I like and stuck with them for the duration of the bottle. So I wanted to do a quick run down of my current hair heroes as there’s a set of products I’ve been loving recently.

First up, a but on my routine – I’ve taken to washing my hair in the evening, then in the morning I only need to pop on a shower cap (sexy, I know) and jump in the shower and go – saving vital time for snoozing. Or if I do want to spend a little more time and effort I’ll use my trusty conical wand to give myself some extra volume and beachy waves.

Haircare routine wise it all starts with the cleansing routine – my current go-to shampoo set is the Bumble and Bumble Thickening Shampoo* and Conditioner*. With the Phyto Detox shampoo* thrown n for a bit of a deeper cleanse/scalp detox a couple of times a week.

If I need a bit of a boost for day two hair (still trying to break the daily wash habit…) then I’ve been turning to Klorane Dry Shampoo* as I like that it’s not heavily scented and adds some volume and texture.

After the wash comes the dry and condition – if I feel my hair needs a moisture boost I spritz on a bit of Shu Uemura Essence Absolue* – which I love mostly due to the fragrance and also because of the light conditioning. It leaves my hair silky smooth. For drying I’ve been using my Remington Keratin Therapy hair dryer* – sleek, straight forward and leaves my hair shiny and styled nice and quickly.

Then for styling I have a current trio of products that are the absolute winners for me – VO5 Plump It Up Mousse*, TRESemme Tousled Wave Spray* and (not pictured) Paul Smith XTreme Style Xpanding Thickening Cream. This trio for me is the true dream team… the Phil Smith Xtreme Style Xpanding Thickening Cream smells of holidays and truly makes my hair feel thicker – and gives lasting volume. Though I think this product has changed name – it’s now called Phil Smith Big It Up Thickening Cream. Then the mousse helps make the volume last with the added heat. Then adding in the TRESemme really gives my hair the sort of slightly messy texture and volume. I find that each on their own is good – but all together is amazing for my fine hair.

For a finishing touch I’ve been loving Toni&Guy Glamour hair spray*. It adds hold and keeps the style in place without leaving hair crispy.

Overall – we have my current go-to hair heroes!

Products with * are PR samples. Others bought by me.
