New L’Oreal Top Coats

L’Oreal are pretty good at this fun top coat malarkey aren’t they? Following on from the constantly sold out success of the black and white spot shade from last year, here are the new L’Oreal top coats. There are four shades, ranging from the monochrome, the the pastel mix plus of course some sparkle. With the main twist on them being the textures – to add that bit of difference.

There are the two sparkly ones, the silver with rainbow reflective glitter chunks, and the gold flakes – both very pretty. My favourite is the gold flakes as it reminds me of the OPI Man With A Golden Gun shade…but without the hefty price tag for real gold flakes.

Then there are the two flake shades – the monochrome and the candy colours. The monochrome is quite cool, but I can’t help but think it looks a bit like a lot of thunder-bugs?! Maybe just me, but I’d have to layer it pretty thick to get the bug references out of my head. On the other hand there’s the candy coloured shards that would look fab over a white base to make the colours stand out – or over one of the colours in there (the blue or peach would look lovely as bases).

My pick of the four has to be the gold, with the candy coloured shards as the close second – both pretty and unique feeling top coats that will look good beyond just the one season.

L’Oreal Top Coat shades * are available from Boots (£4.99)

Same – that was definitely the one I could see working with so many shades immediately!

I always buy top coats & never end up using them, I am drawn in by their pretty glitzy appeal. I like the gold one best out of the line up
