So, lip crayons aren’t exactly a new thing. But these Clarins Lip Crayons do have a snazzy little feature (well, shade 01 does at least) in that this shade adapts to your lip colour to create your own perfect shade of pink. Not necessarily a brand new thing, I’ve seen a few brands do this before – but it is the first time I’ve seen in a lip crayon design. I like this as it really does help give you a ‘my lips but better’ lip colour. The other two shades over a wash of sheer pigment and just a touch of shimmer on the red shade.

So, the three shades here are a berry, the ‘you’ shade of pink and the red with a golden shimmer. The berry shade because it’s sheer actually works out as a flattering deep pinky shade when applied. The red shade is the brighter and closest to being a stronger colour – but still very sheer. The reddish shade is Tender Coral – a sheer red with a hint of shimmer that only really shows in some light, I’ve tried to capture it above. The pink is called ‘My Pink’ because of the PH reactive shade adjusting goodness then there’s the darker shade is Delicious Plum – a dark plummy sheer colour for those who maybe love a dark lip but not sure about it for Summer.
My favourite is My Pink – and this is the one I’ve been reaching for the most as it’s a bit of a fool-proof lip shade. It suits you as adapts to your skin tone to make a ‘custom’ shade, and the crayon format makes it so easy and quick to apply. Perfect for lazy lip colour fans like myself! I do love a sheer colour lip for warm Summer days – this baby may very well be joining me on a little jaunt to Spain that I have coming up soon.
Clarins Lip Crayons * are available from Clarins website & Debenhams (£18)
I have heard a lot about these lately and some mixed reviews I used to use Clarins all the time when I was working in the department stores but kind of branched away but the colours in the butters range look so pretty that I think I may have to give them a whirl!
