Like any good beauty junkie, I do love a MAC collection – I am also a fan of Rocky Horror Picture Show…. pull these too together and *cue girly screams* – we have a winner. These little babies from the MAC Rocky Horror Collection landed on my doormat just yesterday so I wanted to have a play and show you what goodness you have to look forward to. In all honesty – you don’t even need to be a Rocky Horror fan to appreciate these. They’re just lovely Autumn shades and that lipstick… I with I could type a heart eyes emoji right now.
The lipstick is the shade ‘Strange Journey’ and is described as a ‘yellowish brick red’ and is a matte formula. I applied over a coat of MAC Prep and Prime – which is an absolute essential if, like me, you suffer from remotely dry lips. Seriously – saves them in a second. It’s a must if I want to wear a matte shade and not have lips that are drier than the sahara. I’d describe the shade as an orange toned red – a shade family I just adore and find it really suits my paler skin. A definite staple for Autumn bright lips me thinks.
Then there’s the Riff Raff palette – yes, another gorgeous one. This is my sort of ‘colour’ palette. Shades away from the nude family, but neutral/toned down enough I’m happy to wear them. The palette is the new six-shade style rather than the previous four circles of colour style. The colours in the palette are a mix of shimmer and matte and some classics, some re-promotes and some new to the palette shades (RHS top to bottom, then LHS top to bottom):
Oh Rocky! – nude champagne shimmer (Frost)
Blackberry – matte aubergine shade (Matte)
Heavy Black & Pendulous – Shimmer deep petrol blue (Frost)
Crystal – Lilac shimmer (Frost)
Graphic Style – Silvery grey with lilac tones shimmer (Veluxe Pearl)
Carbon – Intense matte black (Matte)
I’m loving Oh Rocky as an easy to wear day to day. Blackberry as a nice alternative to matte brown for a crease shade. Carbon is just an all time classic. But I’m actually a big fan of both Crystal and Graphic Style – they remind me of my original love for lilac shades of make-up when I was a teenager… Graphic Style is a lovely smokey eye shade.
Tell me… are you excited for this collection? A fan of Rocky Horror or just a total sucker for a MAC collection…!
