Clarins Spring Lip Colours 2016

Rather than do a single post on the Clarins Spring Collection I decided to break it down into a few posts – focussing on each element. Starting with the Clarins Spring Lip Colours 2016. This is a little run down of four shades in the Spring collection – all in the Rouge Eclat lipstick family.

Left to right we have: Hot Rose (23), Pink Cherry (24), Pink Blossom (25) and Rose Praline (26).

Formula wise, I really like the Clarins lipstick formulas across the board – for sheer or for more intense colour they always offer a good hit of moisture and feel comfortable to wear on the lips without being drying. These shades are no different. They each feel really hydrating – each one also has a bit of a shimmer to it. Very soft, but just to add a touch of radiance/shine. Not to go so far as being frosty on the lips at all. They promise an ‘age defying’ satin finish – basically meaning there’s a bit of shimmer to bounce light back off the lips and give them a bit of a radiant/plump look.

These four colours all have rosy pink tones to them so if you like the pink/red/nude shades they all have a flattering warmth to them which makes them ideal for perking up a post-Winter complexion without needing to resort to a tonne of bronzer or self tan. They’re just easy to wear and flattering shades.

When it comes to picking a favourite… ooh a tough call. My first choice would probably be the bright pink Hot Rose, but actually I’m really liking the nude Rose Praline for day to day wear as my current go-to look is a bit of a daytime smokey eye with a nude lip so this is ideal.

Look out for next post on the Clarins Spring 2016 collection coming soon – there’s a gorgeous shadow palette and some pressed pigment shades still to blog about!

I think my favourite (from the swatches) would be Pink Blossom! Such a pretty color. I agree, I’m sure these must brighten up any complexion that’s looking a bit tired from the long winter!
