The whole idea of the Aerin collection is that it’s a very small, edited selection of essentials. Not a vast array of every shade under the sun, but more a capsule collection of perfectly selected shades that just work perfectly. This is the new edition of the Aerin Weekday Palette – with just the ideal shades that can work for boardroom, meetings, to dinners. A blend of cheek shade, four lip shades and eye shades. Literally all you need to add the colour and touch up during the day.
So the palette contains the four lip shades – all fairly sheer ones, but could be built if you more intensity. Three of which are creamy shades and one with some shimmer to it. Then there’s the pop of pink blush that is ideal for adding a flush to ‘I feel like a zombie’ Monday morning cheeks. Then two classic eye shadow to add definition and a touch of colour. One matte grey, that’s perfect for day to day, then the darker shade with a very subtle shimmer if you want to smoke it up a bit for post-work drinks.
This palette really is exactly as I described – a perfectly selected, simple capsule collection of colours to get you through the working week with minimal fuss or stress. Just add your base and mascara and you’re good to go. Easy. My favourites are the powder shades – the pink is really flattering on my paler skin and I like the light taupe/grey eyeshadow shade (looks warmer on the skin than in the palette). Simply – a nice touch of glamour for the day to day essentials all in one neat (and gorgeous) little gold compact.
The complimentary Aerin Weekend Palette follows the same formula but contains slightly warmer shades of bronze. There’s also a rather gorgeous rose tinted lip balm in the Essentials Collection that I love the look of. I do love a tinted lip balm.
