Hello lovely readers! Today I am launching a new little series on the blog… my own little ‘Beauty A-Z’. Where I’m going to do a little alphabetical look at different brands. No promises on frequency or anything – but will be doing them regularly working from A-Z covering off some of my favourite products and brands as a bit of a ‘brand focus’ to highlight best-of or maybe even the over-rated products.
Starting with Aveda.
A is for Aveda
So, Aveda – when I think of Aveda the top thing to come to my mind isn’t always the actual products, but the Holborn experience. Over the years I’ve been lucky to visit the salon a fair few times, for varied things – from scalp treatments (always an instant win with me), to blow dries or cuts. If you’re in London the salon is a must visit for a pamper – it’s huge and offers all sorts of pampering treatments, a product store and even on-site cafe.
Product wise for me – the top pick has to be the Invati range. There are three products in the range – all designed to deal with breaking/damaged hair, helping ‘plump up’ hair, but by treating/looking after the scalp. The shampoo is a particular love for me – as it’s designed to exfoliate the scalp to prevent any build up getting in the way of the hair. This range is fab if you have delicate hair, or if like me you have a sensitive scalp and fine hair – perfect combo. It’s basically a triple threat – looking after the scalp, damage and volume in one trio of products.
The product I’d say is over-rated from the brand would have to be the shine spray. Now don’t get me wrong – it’s probably an awesome product if you have thicker hair. For me, as a fine-haired blonde, it just never has quite worked to the level I was hoping for as such a well known product. Pretty typical for a shine spray as it’s near on impossible to get one that works for fine, blonde hair – but still.
