Rimmel London Apocalips Matte are the latest addition to the Apocalips family – following in the footsteps of the rather popular original launch that delivered an amazing lip-combo of colour like a lipstick, but creamy texture. Quality wise, Rimmel is definitely top of the pack when it comes to lip products on the highstreet in my opinion. They have some great innovation, fab shades and the quality/price is always the perfect balance. These new shades are a matte version of the previous – so the colour applies glossy but then dries down to loose it’s shine and leave you with a statement colour but velvet finish (hence the ‘lip velvet’ name).
These three shades are (L-R) Orange-Ology (orange-red), Meteoric Matte (deep burgundy) and Atomic Rose (nude rose). My top pick would 100% be Orange-Ology as I do love an orange toned red – they’re bright and fun, but somehow still feel quite classic at the same time.
I can see these shades being very popular as matte lips (much to my eternally-chapped lips dismay) are having a bit of a moment, If, like me, you can’t quite manage a matte lip without them just crinkling up like you had a four hour bath – then these are a good bet as the formula is creamy to apply and feels more comfortable than the usual type of matte lipstick.
