That’s right, an ACTUAL beauty post. Not me having a little look back at the past year for a change. Today instead I’m back to the wonderful world of lipsticks looking at this trio of Butter London Moisture Matte Lipstick shades. Here we have Mush, Loved Up and Macbeth. A nude, a berry and a pink.
The best thing about these is that whilst they’re a matte finish, they don’t feel anywhere near as drying as the usual matte texture can do. They feel quite creamy – and whilst over the time you wear them they do tend to get more dry feeling for the first hour or so they stay pretty hydrated feeling.
Shade wise, the colour pay off is great. Especially for the two brighter shades of Loved Up and Macbeth – but naturally the nude is likely to be a little more sheer than the others. My personal favourite of this trio is Macbeth as I do love a bright pink. I just wish my lips weren’t so dehydrated post Christmas that I would be able to wear this properly without being conscious of how dry they are. But I’m on a mission to fix them with a combo of oils/balms/scrubs and a day in they’re already feeling about a million times better than they were.
What are your first impressions of these lippies from Butter London? I do have to say I love Butter London shade names – there’s another in the Moisture Matte range called ‘Toff’ or ‘Blowing Raspberries’ which I basically love regardless of what it’s actually like purely for the name. Or matte lipsticks in general – love or loathe? For me I’m on the fence – I love the look and finish of matte lipstick but find it very high maintenance for my dry lips.
