The Rosewood Hotel in London used to be under a different name but recently was given a bit of a make-over and is absolutely stunning. Even if you’re not staying there there are multiple reasons to visit. Including the various food options (the food in the Holborn Dining Room is amazing) and of course the Sense Spa. The spa is where I had the pleasure of visiting recently – located in the basement space of the hotel it feels like a little sanctuary away from the buzz of Holborn just around the corner.
The spa really does feel like another world – with water lined walkways between rooms and a dark and cosy feel. There’s a circular central room where there are beds and spaces to relax before or after your treatment (where we were lucky enough to be served a few drinks and snacks to enjoy whilst we chatted about the spa).
I had a 30min massage whilst at the Spa and to say it was much needed would be selling it short – oh my goodness, how good a massage can be. I never used to appreciate the ‘value’ of a massage, and always used to opt for the more ‘functional’ of treatments like facials. But over recent years I have become more and more of a massage fan and will have them as often as I possibly can. Usually I do opt for longer treatments as it’s usually around the 30min mark that I usually start to properly relax. But this one was lovely – really relaxing from the very start. They exclusively use Sodashi products in the Rosewood Sense Spa and they smell dreamy and left my skin feeling really soft afterward.
If you need a breather from the speed of the city then totally recommend escaping to the Rosewood Sense Spa – it feels like a quirky, luxury little secret just a stones throw from Holborn and all the madness of London!
