Charlotte Tilbury has some new lipsticks. These are the Charlotte Tilbury Hot Lips and there’s more to it then them just being some pretty shades. Which they are of course, it’s Charlotte Tilbury – the fact that they’re pretty almost goes without saying. But first, a little info on what I mean by ‘more to it’.
The Charlotte Tilbury Hot Lips collection features 16 shades, all in collaboration with some of worlds ‘most inspiring’ celebrity women. BUT not just that, for the first two months of sales Charlotte has promised to donate £1 from every lipstick sold to Women for Women International. A charity that works to support some of the most socially-excluded women in the world. Those who are survivors of war.
Charlotte Tilbury Hot Lips
The new Hot Lips collection includes a selection of four of the bestselling favourites (existing shades) plus selection of gorgeous new shades joining the mix. All inspired by and created in collaboration with some big name and beautiful women. Including Miranda Kerr, Nicole Kidman, Salma Hayek, Kate Bosworth, Laura Bailey, Cindy Crawford, Helena Bonham-Carter, Liv Tyler, Emily Ratajkowski, Carina Lau, Poppy Delevingne, Victoria Beckham, Kate Moss, Sienna Miller, Penelope Cruz and Kim Kardashian-West. Pretty much a who’s who of famous women.
The lipsticks are also really gorgeous, flattering shades. Ranging from pale nudes (Kim KW) to bright pinks (Electric Poppy) with corals, berry, red and a whole host of prettiness in-between. I have four shades here to show you that give a good overview of the shades and textures.
All of the lipsticks in the Hot Lips Collection fall into the Matte Revolution (matte) or K.I.S.S.I.N.G. (cream) texures and of the four shades I have there are two matte and two cream. Based on the textures I thought Liv It Up and Kim KW were the K.I.S.S.I.N.G. and Secret Salma and Hell’s Bells were the Matte Revolution… the thing that confused me was that the stickers on the bottom are dark or light and I thought that indicated which texture it was but it doesn’t seem to correlate. The shades I have (left to right) are Liv It Up, Secret Salma, Kim KW, Hell’s Bells. So Liv It Up is a lovely pinky rose, Secret Salma is a rosy plum sort of shade, Kim KW is a pale nude, and Hells’ Bells is a deep plum.
So the four shades are (left to right again) Liv It Up (inspired by Liv Tyler), Secret Salma (by Salma Hayek), Kim KW (by… of course Kim Kardashian West) and Hell’s Bells (by Helena Bonham-Carter).
So four shades on trial – what’s my favourite colour? I think my top choice would have to be Liv It Up – I haven’t found a pretty paler pink that I like in a while so have been gravitating towards the bolder/brighter shades. I have my eye on Electric Poppy from the other shades shown here. Plus Hot Emily and Tell Laura – both brighter corals or red shades that are beautiful for Summer.
But, above all the prettiness of the lipsticks it’s always worth remembering the overall Hot Lips campaign message of #LipstickConfidence – where something as simple as lipstick really does have the power to give confidence and power to women all over the world. This collection launch is going a step further and donating £1 from every Hot Lips lipstick sold for the first two months on sale (i.e. BUY ONE NOW) will go towards the work of Women For Women International.
You can go a step further and support the campaign by sharing on social – I’ve popped the details below in case this is something you’re keen to do.
Let me know which of the Hot Lips shades here (or from the whole collection) you have your eyes on!
