NYX Boots Haul

So NYX is probably the most excited brand to launch into Boots this year. I know when I first spotted the counter at Liverpool Street I definitely stopped for a good old browse. There are SO many products – the counters are pretty extensive. There were a few products that immediately caught my eye and a few others I have heard about through the grapevine. So when I was approached to do a post about the launch – which excitingly included taking myself on a little shopping trip to pick some bits out, I was very much up for that.

A little aside first – generally when working with brands on posts you don’t get a vast amount of choice on what you going to write about. Hence the point of it being a collaboration to advertise their product. Of course, any blogger who values their authenticity will only agree to do this for products or brands they do like or are interested in – but that side of things isn’t what I’m talking about. What I’m meaning is, that getting to take myself to a brand sparkly new beauty counter in my own time and choose whatever I wanted to write about was actually really fun. I think it works really well to do it this way as you know that every product here I selected myself to test and blog about. BUT that’s just a side point. Back to the NYX Boots Haul!

I spent a LONG time browsing the counter and ended up choosing six items. Including…

NYX Illuminator in ‘Enigmatic’

NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in ‘Ibiza’

NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in ‘Iced Mocha’

NYX Natural Eyeshadow Palette in ‘TNS01’

NYX Vivid Brights Eyeliner in ‘Vivid Sapphire’

NYX Dewy Finish Setting Spray
Firstly, the eyeliner. This was a bit of a ‘cheat’ because it was a product I tried before. I had this one applied at the Impulse event a couple of weeks ago and loved how bright it was. Of course I’m still a neutral girl at heart but I do love a splash of bright blue!
Then I just browsed to see what caught my eye. I’ve tried a handful of products before but not for a whole. One of which was the eye crayon – I was torn which shade to go for between one called French Fries (yes, largely because of the name) and this one. In the photo at the bottom I used this as a base for the eyeshadow.

Speaking of eyeshadow – I couldn’t resist the neutrals palette. It’s compact with a nice blend of shimmer and matte shades. My favourite two being the ones on the right (darkest and one to it’s left). Wearing both in the photo!

Lip shades wise NYX have a HUGE selection. Everything from 90s nudes to the darkest berries. With the odd blue or purple thrown in there too. I wanted to get a shade I would wear in this Summer into Autumn phase so not too coral but not too berry. I opted for the shade Ibiza that’s a nice rosy pink. Very comfortable to wear too, even with the matte finish.

I also picked up two skin products. The dewy glow setting spray. I have dry skin so can look dull toward the end of the day as it soaks up every smidge of moisture from my makeup and leaves me like a crispy piece of paper. So the idea of a spray that helps set but also add a bit of dew is a winner. Then the highlighter. Because I can’t resist a highlighter… sucker. This was the only shade in stock (the rest of the counter was really well stocked – I think highlighter are just in such high demand) so I didn’t get to check out the other ones but love this peachy golden shade. I have just a touch of it on in the photo – it’s such a glow you only need a touch!

I’m really pleased with all my purchases (and very happy to have easy access to such a fab & full NYX in my local Boots store!). My favourites from this NYX Boots Haul would have to be the matte lip cream and the glow setting spray I think… but it’s a hard call?! Price wise these are amazing value as the whole lot was only around £40?! Not bad!
