Little healthy changes #TRUEAGE #ad

I started writing a post the other day about January and how I choose not to diet/kick off any drastic new lifestyle changes in that first few post-festive months. As much as I start the year raring to go with work/life motivation, I also totally recognise now that it is February how trying to overhaul my diet/exercise habits immediately following a month (or so…) of excess and indulgence is likely to just make me miserable and in the long run be less likely to stick.

So instead I like to bring in smaller changes, and as each week or so passes I can look to introduce more as time passes. One of which at the end of January has been to re-introduce supplements into my routine. I’ve taken various vitamins/supplements over the years but over 2016 I got out of the habit. It’s funny how hitting my 30’s has made me think a lot more about elements of health I’ve taken for granted in the past. From eyesight, to flexibility. Small lessons, but rather learn them early. One of the major things that appealed to me about adding a Cod Liver Oil supplement into my routine are the support for healthy bones, purely because last year I cut out a lot of milk/dairy from my diet. I used to consume a lot of milk and always credited this with things like having never broken a bone and having nails that grow long pretty quickly. In the last year I’ve noticed how my nails break quicker and take longer to grow. Right now it’s early days, I’ve been keeping the pot on my desk to remind me to pop a little capsule every day – which has worked a treat Monday-Friday, but I have been prone to forgetting at weekends when I am less desk-bound (even if I tend to work, I usually do so from my laptop on those days so it’s easy to forget…) so my first tip would be get two pots and pop them in places you will never have chance to forget. One on your desk and one by your toothbrush perhaps!

      Love hearing the feedback on these. Biggest thing I feel I’ve noticed is my skin feeling more hydrated?!

    Yes I’m the same with taking fish oils, I have one container at home and one at work so that I can try to always take them! My mom finds that they’re been helpful to her digestion when she takes them, and I find that they’re good for my overall health!
