Charlotte Tilbury Limited Edition Lipstick Trio

If there are two simple words that instil fear into the heart of any true beauty junkie out there it’s ‘limited edition’ combine this with a favourite brand and you just know you have to check out what it’s about. The possibility of ‘sold out’ happening and an eternal quest to track down that beloved product again is enough to have me stocking up before you can say ‘but do you really need another nude lipstick?’. This post is a little look at a Charlotte Tilbury Limited Edition Lipstick Trio that are sold both via a full set along with liners and gloss to work with each shade or individually as three shades each inspired by different geographical locations.

Charlotte Tilbury Limited Edition Lipstick

The three shades are American Sweetheart, English Beauty and Shanghai Nights. Two nudes and one deeper shades. One of the nudes being of the ‘K.I.S.S.I.N.G.’ range and the other two shades being Matte Revolution formula. Each one comes in special printed packaging relating to the location of the name. I don’t know if it’s just me but there’s just something about the ‘English Beauty’  and ‘American Sweetheart’ names in particular that make me want to capture that look in lipstick form. Like slicking on the shade is going to immediately turn me into one or the other… it’s almost like they know what they’re doing with the marketing magic of shade names…!

Charlotte Tilbury Limited Edition Lipstick

Personally my preferred texture of Charlotte Tilbury lipsticks is the K.I.S.S.I.N.G. one as I find it creamier – although as far as matte shades go, Matte Revolution does take some beating. My lips are just a but too eternally dry to be a regular matte lipstick.

American Sweetheart – K.I.S.S.I.N.G. formula

(£24 – available from Charlotte Tilbury)

A creamy lipstick in a nude shade, described as a ‘tawny pink’.  I’d describe it as an apricot/beige toned nude. Definitely a very ‘nude’ neutral and not as pink as the description indicates. A hydrating formula and the most neutral of the three in the collection.

Shanghai Nights – Matte Revolution formula

(£24 – available from Charlotte Tilbury)

The darkest of the three shades, looks darker in the bullet but then when applied it takes on a bit of a lighter more red than berry tone. Described as a ‘deep sultry red’ and I’d have to agree. This is an ultimate date night shade and probably my ‘surprise favourite’ of the trio. I expected to lean towards the nudes but actually this shade was my favourite. Yes, it’s matte revolution but the shade is gorgeous and feels about as creamy as it gets for a shine-free formula so I’ll overlook it and just embrace the gorgeous colour.

English Beauty – Matte Revolution formula

(£24 – available from Charlotte Tilbury)

A pink nude shade that shade wise is just lovely if you like a warmer toned nude to the option with American Beauty. Some people tend to suit more pink nudes, other more peach/neutral. If you’re a pink one then this is the shade for you (if not, try American Beauty). It’s the matte formula but again, feels creamier than the usual matte options. If they could bring this out in the K.I.S.S.I.N.G. formula I’d be pretty delighted. It’s a gorgeous shade and definitely fitting of an English (or otherwise) beauty.

I mentioned above how the three shades also are available in a gift-set kit called ‘Lip Masterclass‘ that pairs each of the three shades with a perfectly complimentary lip liner and gloss option to create your own little lip kit trio for each shade. The kit is £130 for the whole lot and I’ve just listed the shades below in case you want to custom purchase your own ultimate parings.

I have a sneaky feeling there are some pretty darn exciting launches from Charlotte Tilbury due in 2018 – the latest of the ‘Youth Glow’ primer is top of my list to try. There was also a very exciting new addition to the cheek colour offering with the Filmstar Bronze and Blush Glow duo – switching out the bronzer/highlighter duo for a bronzer and blusher combination. It’s a beauty. Yeah, Charlotte Tilbury’s reign of ‘brand that can do no wrong’ continues…

These shades are gorgeous and I am very tempted to go and buy all three, however my bank balance won’t thank me so I will just pick one.

If you were going to choose just one of the three I’d say that English Beauty is the most universally flattering!

I was lucky enough to get American Sweetheart for Christmas, and I haven’t been able to try it yet, but it seems like a really stunning colour! The rest of the collection looks so stunning too, I may have to treat myself! Thanks for sharing xx

All three of these look gorgeous! I have few of her lippies so I couldn’t possibly justify another one. But if I did, I’d choose English Beauty.
