The Dr Tuhin Dev range has been developed by a dermatologist whose mantra is ‘Function First’. Many of the skincare ranges launched into the market today a redeveloped around one ‘wonder’ ingredient. Not with DrDev, who believes skincare works best with a mixture of active ingredients working together for the best possible benefit to the skin.
With Dr Dev’s Cleansing Balm, a little goes a long way. Containing a natural emulsifier that transforms the balm into a lotion on contact with water, this effectively cleanses and purifies the skin. Glycerin and Sweet almond oil helps to maintain the moisture balance and hydrate the skin, while at the same time softening the skin. Naturally rich in essential fatty acids and vitamins A, B1, B2, B6 and E,Cleansing Balm is fragranced with refreshing Neroli Oil.
Firstly, I really like the luxurious gold packaging of this cleanser. Having tried a lot of cleansers and found it rare for one to really cleanse well, and remove a face of make up (and lovely London tube dirt) so I was hoping that this one would live up to its promises.
As mentioned in the marketing blurb you only need a small amount to cover the face. The gel is slightly sticky in texture, and the smell reminds me of melting plastic. Still, as a true Beautyjunkie this does not put me off! I massaged the gel into my skin thoroughly, emulsifying with a bit of water and finally rinsing. My skin felt really clean, if a little tight. But after a coat of moisturiser my skin felt pretty good. Overall, this is not a bad cleanser, if you can overlook the slightly unpleasant smell.
